E30 Road Trip Anyone? - Solvang

Hey All,

Thought of a random idea but figured its around the perfect time of the year to do this considering the weather. Round this time last year, my lady and I drove out to Solvang for 1.5 days to hang around Santa Barbara Wine Country and had a blast. So, I'm thinking, why not do it again but with a bunch of R3v folks.

The thought would be sometime in January/February we get a crew together to meet up (probably in the Valley somewhere) and drive out to Solvang (or any Los Alamos....would be good too) in the AM. Book out one of the small hotels out there (would be around $79 for a night) and spend the day driving around the mountain/Ynez Valley, hit some wineries, maybe the casino,etc etc.

Would anyone be interested in doing something like that? Would be a good trip and relatively inexpensive to attend for all.

I'm local-ish to solvang. Not a big gambler but would go for the drive/wine.

I'd be down, though I'd have to break off and head to the Bay afterwards. Undecided on a date, but I'm free since the semester will be over so I'm not picky.

I'd say we can take the 1, would add a bit of time but whatever if its nice out haha.

Throwing some dates out

Saturday Jan 21-22
Saturday Jan 28-29
Saturday Feb 4-5
Saturday Feb 11-12

Ideally it'd be we meet around 8:30 A.M. somewhere then drive out, get into Los Alamos (or surrounding area whichever town we want to stay in) by Lunch.
Do group lunch somewhere then hit a trail of wineries or tasting rooms probably in Los Olivos because that or Solvang seem to be the hub of activity
Dinner back near the hotel then just whatever everyone wants to do that night (hang at bar/breweries by hotel, or hit casino)

Breakfast in the AM then whatever.

Big fan of this hotel, $79 a night and pretty cool vibe
