MrBMW9195, dont waste gas, and party with us (<21'ers) Ask around for someone to share their room with you. It will be cheap, about the same price as your getting.
I would, but I already have too many in my room lol. The cost per person in my room is about 33/person. Plus you are with the bimmer crowd the entire time.Comment

I'll be there with the 318iS, but I'll also be helping TomPowered run the Polizei clothing booth, and if space permits, my car may be in his booth.Comment

I'm staying at the Motel 6. No idea where it is other than in SB though since a friend booked the room.Comment

Oh ya, we're going to be BBQing shit on the trailer so all of the E30 guys are welcome to come by. We'll probably charge enough to cover the cost of shit. Or bring your own food to Q'.Comment

I use to live 2 mins from the location. Anyone have any questions feel free to ask...
here is my 2 cents.
Book your hotel early - $100 a night is cheap - you can get as low as $80 for a motel 6. If you are looking for something that you haven't seen in a really bad porno, plan on $200. This is a VERY expensive town.
Don't speed. CHP is cool, the local cops(and sheriffs) are not. Don't even think of having ONE drink and then hopping in your car. They pull cars over at random after 12. If you go on the drive, you are taking a chance that they will make a example out of you. They seem to ticket 10-20 cars and force them on the side of the road just long enough so everyone else sees them.
If you drink....There are 60 or so taxi cabs in the city of our small town, every one uses them except the retards - use them!!!
Sb is worth the trip alone, but seeing a 1000 bmws all together is priceless.
If you are into history, go look at the Mission. If you have a girlfriend in tow, send/take her to state street.
If your 18 and have a place to stay check out "IV". UCSB's residential aera. It's been voted the number one party town many times over....but you WILL GET THROWN IN JAIL for being (too) drunk in public or even being next to a empty open beer bottle on the street - I kid you not. If you are an ass you *will* get the shit beat out of you. Guys in SB are very "chill" , but we don't take kindly to people that come into town and think they are hot shit...
If you are over 21, and willing to dop $25-$50 on cab fair (told you it was pricy) then tell the driver you want to go to "state street" from what our local paper says, it has more bars in 5 square blocks then anyplace in the world except new orleans.
I recomend "Orange Cab", ask for Doug. - if the driver doesn't know what is going off that night have him radio the dispach - they will hook you up.
If you fell like it the drive down PCH to LA/malibu is priceless...Stay away from teh road side dinners.
A decent radio staion to tune to is 92.9...search the dial for anything else. And no, you won't get LA stations.
There are very few drive in's in SB (by law) - I suggest in'n'out off of Turnpike along the 101. Of for more local flavor, try the "habbit" .
I could go on and on...If you do some research you'll hook yoruself up in SB and have the time of your life. If you rush into town and rush out, it will just be "fun"....
There are more cars then you have a chance to look at. Bring your camera, but for the love of god, LOOK at the cars to, snap a very quick pic, and enjoy the cars in person...
***** Best peice of advice I can give. Walk up to someone with a e30 and start a conservation. I was too shy my first year, and it sucked. You have a chance to meet some cool people - do it. ***
Hope that helps...
George
