    Bay Area Novice HPDE events?

I'm wondering if there are any organizations that offer HPDE's or similar events geared toward novices. I know the local clubs in my area do, however, I was going to send my sister to one since she lives down there and recently purchased a new 135i. Her driving would really benefit from it.

It would help to mention which club is organizing the event.
The Dec 1st day at Thunderhill is with NCRC.

There is also an event at Thunderhill on Nov 15 held by Hooked on Driving.

There are many clubs that hold track days in the area. I've driven with both NCRC and HoD, and I recommend them both.

My brother has done events with Hooked on Driving a Thunderhill. They are a well organized group - some nice hardware usually shows up (read: Ferraris). I've personally done HPDEs with Unlimited Laps. The guy that organizes them only does a few each year. The turnout for this group is smaller which equates to more room on the track for you to work with. Often times these late Fall / early Winter driving events have low attendance numbers since the holidays are approaching or some have a "winter overhaul" taking place on their track cars.

$99 is definately cheap for a track day - I've always plunked down $200+ for admission alone. Perhaps the price will entice a good number to show up.

Check into events with the BMW CCA. They're geared towards novices and SAFETY first. Great group to start off with and learn a ton.

FYI, the budget NCRC events ($99 days) are not really geared towards novices as one of their major cut backs was instruction. Now you get a lead follow in the morning where you drive by your self in a line for the first session, and then you might get an instructor for one of your sessions later in the day. This cut costs from about $330 a day to $99. I did a full days of instruction for a first time novice last time in addition to driving my events, and I'll be up there on the 1st hanging out and instructing if anybody from here is going and needs it.
