EDIT: aw shit. the one in san mateo i cant go to because i have an autox that day (april 4). and the one in Pleasanton (july 18th) i dont think i can make either because ill be in costa rica until the 16th of july. I might be able to make it if theres no like pre-meeting.

from what i heard, they do, just send an email. i heard there will be a casting call on wedenesday and if you are one of the fastest 32, then you have a mandatory camera interview on friday lol if you can't make it wednesday, then go on the day of the event

Hello,



This email is to update everyone interested in the Auto Barrel Racing competition. The Casting call is on Wednesday, March 11th between 4-8pm. The On Camera interviews have been moved to Saturday the 14th before the competition. By doing this we will not require everyone to make an extra trip to the site on Friday.



We will not be allowing people to sign up at the event, our time window is not long enough to allow additional contestants. What this means for you? If you want to enter the competition, you must attend the casting call. We will allow anybody to sign up for practice at the event, but they will not be eligible to enter the competition for the $5,000.00 dollar prize.



To answer a couple of questions that have been brought up…



You are not required to bring your car to the casting call, but if you do not bring your car, you will be at a disadvantage over those that do.



Helmets are not required to enter the competition.



There is no entry fee to enter the competition.



I hope this clarifies a few questions, and I look forward to meeting you all on Wednesday!

cool, just lmk. i'll be moving to a house by el segundo at the end of this month and i'll have my own huge two car garage, so i'm still in the southbay and we will be able to work on our e30s in my garage. i'm also going to invest on power tools sometime this year lol

did you still go to the casting call? if you didn't make it to the casting call, then it's all good because you can still run the practice for free, but not compete for the chance to win $5k according to the vice president. i met up with him in Simi Valley on Tuesday late night 'cuz emailed him saying that i couldn't make it to the wed night casting call, so he hooked me up by giving me my own casting call and he took photos of my car, interviewed me, etc...

he said that the casting call is for people to show up with or without their cars for an interview and based on the interviews, they will pick 32 contestants who will compete for the $5k cash. if you are not picked to compete for the $5k cash or if you didn't make it to the casting call, then you can still run your car on the day of the event, but for practice only and the benefit you get is that you will not only get to race for free and show off your car, but also get in HIN for free, however, you will still have to pay for parking... this is why i've been telling everyone who has an e30 to show up for the practice and represent e30s so everyone RECOGNIZES e30s and so everyone who came to the practice can also get in for FREE at HIN without having to pay $20-$50 entrace fee except for the parking which is like $10 i think...
