Ive been doing both ways up and down I-5 quite frequently to go to vancouver area from bremerton area and the construction isnt that bad. Worst I hit was 30ish on the shoulder when they blocked off the whole freeway south of centralia about a month ago. Just watch out for the typical travel times which are around 5-7pm friday and sunday evenings. Thats when there's always the most traffic, I've been doing that drive/ride for 15+ years. I dont think you guys will have much of a problem though.

Just be where you are gonna be BEFORE 10:00 and you are pretty safe.

Looks like the portion from Yelm to Tacoma is the drive afterward after the picnic (just the other way), so you'll know the path. Keep in mind, traffic through Yelm can stall and break up a long line of cars with all the stop lights.

uhmm FAIL its not at XXX this year dude.
Got the dates set for the 2010 E30 Picnic. 9th Annual I think?
June 26-27, 2010
For sure one change in venue, possibly two.
The Sunday Picnic is moving to one of the lush green lawns at the LeMay Museum near Tacoma. I felt we have outgrown the Triple-X. The Trip-X is good for a car show of 100-150, but not for 240. And a change in scenery every so often is nice to keep things fresh.
If Griots Garage have their new headquarters finished, then the Saturday Tech Session will be at their new facility as well.
The new locations also allow us to push the date back further into June. This allows students to be out of school, allow a few more out-of-staters to consider traveling to the event, and better chance of good weather (though I hope this does not jinx the great weather we have usually enjoyed).
Performance BMW Magazine have already indicated they want to cover the event next year.
About time to get the E30 Picnic web site updated with a new countdown clock?
