    Cheap welding service in NoVa

Figured I'd post this here since there's a number of guys near me that might need some cheap welding. I'll start by saying, "I am not shop quality". I do this in my spare time and my welds do not look pro by any means. But, I do promise it won't break or leak (for exhausts), and if it does, I'll fix it for free. I mainly do this for practice and to cover general consumable costs (wire/gas).

I've got a snap-on MW120 and I generally run a 75/25 mix of gas. I can do basic stainless and mild steel work. I do mainly exhaust work and light fabrication. I don't do structural things like cages or aluminum (I do have a place if you want those done for cheap tho).

I encourage you to drop off stuff and pick them up later as my driveway space (yes no garage) is very limited.

PM me for rates and availability.

Here are some stuff that I made.

      Dude.

Did you do a few bumps before you did the welding on that E46 midpipe?

Well, I'd try to mix uppers with downers next time, so you can follow the weld pool better.

haha. I'd explain it but it sounds moot. It seals to this day so I'm fine with the giant panda glob.

Dude practice that bead. Buy some half inch or 3/4in round stock cut it up into 8in. pieces and practice laying down a bead between the rods. Make little half moons or figure 8's. In all seriousness I've seen pot heads weld better in my shop class. Good luck.

You may be having a really hard time laying down a good weld being outside and using gas.

If you plan on using it outside a lot you can put a flux wire on the welder. But its going to run hotter and have more slag.

Or just go grab an arc welder gas sucks. Actually they both have their applications but I definately prefer arc welding over and other.

ummmmm ignore the last 2 posts!

unless you are in a wind storm, gas will work great set the flow for between 12-15 psi and leave it.

arc welding is for building trailers, welding plumbing together and welding rebar.

you MIGHT be confusing it with TIG ( i doubt it though)

YOSHI, you need to sit down and do some welding ( lots of it) and figure out how to use your welder (adjusting it for different jobs) and just figure out how to push and drag the puddle. sorry dude, but your welds look like bird shit.
