in a bind, need water_pump/timing belt done asap

So my cooling system is shit, more specifically the water pump is leaking (among other hoses it appears). As well, I have the pre-87 cooling system where the expansion tank is on the passengers side, and there is a different water pump. This is not the original cooling system, the original was a post-88 system and im not sure why the po swapped them. In any case, I have been sourcing parts and planning on doing this asap but due to the weather creeping up fast I haven't been able to. I don't have a garage to work in and don't know anyone or a good shop that can get this done for a reasonable price.

The reason im in a bind is I found a buyer for my daily driver and really need to have my e30 daily'able before I let my daily go.

If someone has a weekend and a garage thats willing to help me out let me know. Or even if someone knows a legitimate shop that can have this done reasonably I would be open to it.

You can come to my garage and do it I have a Bentley manual with directions. Its pretty easy there is a write up on here as well. http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=158446
What are you getting for a dd? I would not pay someone to do it. Just start early and have another vehicle there in case you need a part or a tool. How much are you asking for the e30?
My Multi car part out. Need a part? Pm me...

where are you located exactly ill? you know where im at so if its not that far i would certainly consider it.

this may be a two-day project considering im doing the time belt and water pump for the first time as well as swapping the entire cooling system.

im going to think about it and ill be in touch if i decide i dont want to do it outside

also, the e30 isnt for sale my passat is. but i would take 5k for my e30 =o

Used to work for these guys, good shop, a lot of factory tools, etm's, and gt1 to boot. Don't know what the labor rate is, but it should be very fair.

So you are swapping in the post 88 cooling system? It takes a radiator, water pump, reservoir, upper and lower hoses, crossover pipe, and a hose or two on the drivers side off the reservoir. You sure you have all the parts you need? If you could wait a couple weeks I'd offer my garage.

Perhaps there will be a diy gtg at my place this spring too.

A DIY GTG sounds grand, where are you located?

I can wait a bit now, im going to hang on to my passat...no reason to rush this

I do have everything on that list except a crossover pipe. I wasnt aware I needed this. The car originally had the late model so the pipe may still be on it.

This is really something I would like to get a more knowledgable r3v'r to help me with so lets pull some shit together and document this DIY

also, I had posted a thread compiling all the info I had about the swap but mods denied me =/

                          Lets set something up!

                              dude i live in parkville.

Towson is 5-10 mins away. Hit me up and we can work something out. My buddy has a shop over on rt 40 that i use all the time, only problem is i can't have antifreeze/ any liquids running on the floor. So we'd have to drain in outside then get it in the garage.

                              hit me up.
