Need to Use (or buy) a Welder in RVA ASAP

Well, the coupe failed inspection due to an exhaust leak in the muffler and I don't have the funds to pick up a whole new system (shop welded 2 halves together). So I picked up a cheap muffler with the intention of using a friend's welder, but due to a change in his insurance, I am no longer able to weld at his place.

Does anyone know of a welder that I could use for an hour or so? I can drive the whole car there and just put the back on stands. I could even throw you a few dollars for the cost of sticks or wire/gas that I use.

    Thanks!

how bad are the holes in the exhaust? I used to just go to an exhaust shop and have them weld it shut for like $20-30, did that a number of times with my last e30

It would be more trouble than it's worth to re-title it as historic, especially with all the restrictions that come with historic tags.

That's the annoying part, they aren't that bad and it has a very small leak. Unfortunately the muffler is to the point where it can't be welded anymore, so i bought a new one. maybe i'll look at some sort of slip fitting/clamps for the time being. I just need to get the coupe back on the road for when it rains so i can fix a few things (like the oil pan) on the vert.

You can see where the old muffler is welded in this old picture, but now it's rusted all the way out to the shell. So the whole thing is basically just one lump of mig wire.

still need a welder buy/borrow. It'd be really nice to have a car that doesn't leak to drive in the rain!

I've saved up some cash for a welder and found a used millermatic 211 in my price range but missed it. I'm only really looking at Lincoln and Miller migs, want infinite control on wire speed AND voltage (no tapped voltage), and need something that plugs into a normal 110v outlet.

So let me know if you think of something.
