After picking up my new E30 I was somewhat uncomfortable knowing that if I was in an accident or if my car was stolen, I could very well be shafted by the insurance company by trying to give me only a few grand due to bluebook on my car.
I looked and looked for an agreed value/collector policy but always had one problem. I don't have a dedicated/personal garage. Additionally, some of the big name companies such as Hagerty ect. are pretty strict about car usage and are pretty much only for official car events/shows.
After calling numerous companies, I came across something for Farmers insurance and checked into it. I looked up a local agent and gave Glenn Fischer a call. He was able to get me full coverage and an agreed value despite not having a garage through a small family owned insurance group. Glenn was super helpful and easy to work with.
I was also able to setup that I would allocate 1000 miles a year to car events and 2000 miles a year towards pleasure driving. A lot of the collector policy do not allow simple pleasure driving. The policy still will not cover this as your primary car. You must have a second as your primary daily/commuter car.
I just wanted to pass along his info in case anyone else was interested.
