Looks like someone else picked up the metallic gold 1989 130K mile manual trans/fabric interior 4 door that was for sale for $4600 at the Bentley dealer in Downers Grove that I looked at last weekend. I've been in North Carolina for work all week but was planning to make an offer this weekend. I emailed the salesman yesterday and he said the car sold for $4300 - kind of surprising that the car went for that $. I was thinking of offering $3600 but I guess someone really liked it better than me.

I might as well ask since im at it, does anyone know someone who can swap out a trans for me? My 2nd gear is shot so im just buying a used trans and throwing that in there. looking for someone who wont charge an arm and a leg, so either a shop or some guy in his garage. I go away for a few days and all kinds of activity happens?! Did that guy out in Aurora ever get the help looking at a possible E30 purchase?

That dealer out in DG is right down the road from me, and my E30 is at a body shop over that way. The service manager at the body shop won my business by showing me the back room with a dark silver E30 M3 that is in for rust repair...houndstooth cloth interior.

Maybe I should try selling my E30 out here, cause the example you mentioned out in DG sounds like it went for a princely sum.

Ya I contacted Steve about that one e30 at the Bentley dealership to see if he needed any help but unfortunately it sold (overpriced). I talked to him yesterday and it sounds like he found a pretty damn rare e30 in the city from some lady. I don't want to steal the surprise but I think he's goin to go buy this Saturday. Ill let him reveal how many original miles are on it. Pretty crazy

Or get a non-e M20 and then you found your driveshaft!

That wouldn't solve much. Driveshaft has to do with the trans output shaft. So non-e m20 has nothing to do with it. The driveshaft wouldn't be used for an m20 either something better :)
