awesome, thanks for the pics! I'm getting the E30 re-insured next week so if we have another meet I'll bring it instead.

Was great to finally meet you all!

i need an S50 bad. If i am gonna be running with the 400+ hp Audis, i need my E30 to have alot more grunt. I love the M42, but today i realized how grossly inadequate it is.

Hahaha. No, what you need to keep up with the 400hp Audis is momentum conservation. Brake pedals are optional.

Though more power is fun...S54 swap is on my list of things to do to my E30 if I end up selling the M car.

momentum is hard to conserve while going uphill!

i drove an S50 E30 once and since then i am convinced that that is what I want. I could break the rear tires loose on command, and have a ton of power on tap, it was a great feeling. And of course there is a plethora of bolt-on upgrades to the S50 like supercharger kits and turbo kits available....

This thread needs more pics. Did anyone snap anything decent? I didn't get my camera out. How was the drive?

PM me for detailing services in the Longmont / Boulder Area in Colorado!

Tell me about it. WHen you caught back up to me and the audi and we were passing that jeep I believe it was I forgot to downshift and before I realized it it was to late. Hit 6000rpm in fourth at the end of that straight. I definitely need to save for a turbo on my 77k engine.

You did WHAT to my S50 E30? Ha, ha - how could you not? It was a fun car - hope the new owner is enjoying it.

Took the E36 M3 to HPA a couple weeks ago and it too - is a great car (even with the extra weight vs. the E30). Too bad I couldn't make it out to the Euro GTG.

yeah i was in a bit of a hurry to get home, and i always go super fast when i leave the mountains on 34 because of the 17 mile accumulation of me being pissed off at knot-heads doing 30 in their enormous SUVs...

I am more interested in the OBDI S50, but if the price is right, and the OBDI conversion isn't too involved, i will have to take a look!

AAAAaahhh! you weren't supposed to read that!!!!

heh heh just kidding! driving your S50 E30 was an awesome experience. I didn't go too crazy what with the tires breaking loose for fear of being chased down by police (although i would have been able to give them quite a run...)

But even though your E30 had huge and heavy 17" wheels, it had no problem twisting them without remorse, i can only imagine what sort of wheel spin my car with its lightweight 15" koseis would be capable of!!

Sam, didn't see your link before, I'll look at the pics now.

Roland, if you're still looking at the thread... I'm looking into an s52, but it's not something of immediate interest really.

So due to recent developments, guess what my new favorite engine is. The M60B40. 4.0L V8 with 282 hp, and it is the most evil sounding engine I have ever heard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJep6m5Uaj0
