and i suggest you adjust your valves, its a pretty easy job. well in that case, you will also need a new valve cover gasket.Comment

True, not denying that. But that's fully modded S52 vs fully modded S50. What I'm saying is if you spend the same amount of money it would cost to OBD1 swap an S52 into an E30 vs swap an S50 and lightly mod it, you end up with similar enough power for the same total cost.David, all I'm saying is that there is a reason why all the guys who track a 95 end up with an OBDI S52 or a Euro motor/S54 (mainly because they dropped a valve due to a faulty retainer, or the head-gasket failed between 5&6).
The S52 is capable of 275whp with sunbelt race cams, headers, etc. The highest I ever saw out of an S50 with sunbelts was 260 or so with similar mods.
That extra .15L that the S52 has makes even more of a difference the more the motor is modded.Comment

you can get a ton of power, if you really boost it, i would say 350-400 hp, but reliability will drop like a lead weight, and i am pretty sure the iX trans case can't handle that, although i have heard that the rear wheel drive E30s can handle about 400 hp safely.Comment
