In the meantime I've been avoiding the cold by catching Top Gear reruns which have done nothing but make me miss my touring. I can't believe instead of these we get hideous GT's now. Shame BMW, shame...

I had a UUC short shifter in my E30, and it was alright. Notchy.

I'm debating on the Z4 2.5 or 3.0, leaning towards the 2.5

I got Z3 1.9 with full bushing rebuild. It's a little notchy, but getting better as the bushing get broken in. Shorter throw than my M Coupe. Super easy job. Got the kit off eBay with OEM parts. All that's required to make it work is a slight bend in the shift rod connector.

Actually makes me feel worse... :(

I wonder what it would take to import an m5 touring...or an e30 touring...or an e34 touring...

I need to find some cars to flip and make some cash, ahhh the ideas are plentiful...

There are a few M5 tourings in the US, just expect to pay $13k for import, federalization, and title fees (looked into it when I was curious about importing an 850CSi). That's on top of the cost of the car, and at ~845 M5 tourings made, they won't be cheap.
