Just moved to Denver. Got emissions testing done on the 99 XJ daily today and passed. Still need to get my 1987 S52 swapped 325is over there at some point before registering. My main concern is we didn't install a cat when we built the exhaust. There are dash lights I need to address as well, but that's another issue. Looking for a way to get through emissions testing without adding a cat. Is this even possible. I read about some roadside tested e30's with no cats passing, but those comments in this thread were from 2012 or so. Also, since I am within a year of meeting the (32 year old) classic plate requirements, I am thinking of just letting the car sit in the garage until that time. Law states that I will still have to get an initial emissions test and then one every 5 years after that. Can anyone who has dealt with this recently shed some light on my situation. Greatly appreciated.

I registered mine at my moms in CO Springs. You could always get a PO box somewhere without them and do it there.

ditto. When I did my swap I ripped all of it out. I only take mine out eaaaarrrly on the weekends. Too hot after 11am.
