The Good: the car runs fantastically and is in decent shape. The car was used as an autocross car primarily (I have a different daily driver). The suspension is well sorted for mixed autocross, track, and daily driving, giving you flatter cornering that is very fun to drive. The tires are very new, only a thousand miles or so on them. These tires are very sticky and make the car come alive in the handling department. The brakes are very firm and stiff due to the upgraded brake pads and lines. The body looks ok except as noted below and the paint (apparently original) looks fantastic for its age. The car is a good ten footer. This car was an autocross and track car first, and a street car second.
The Bad: The engine burns oil (but is well within BMW’s limits) the rear right brake caliper occasionally will make noise, and the brake pads themselves make a good bit of noise on account of their motorsport-oriented nature. The driver’s seat does not slide since it is hard bolted to the floor, and the passenger side slider is broken. Neither the air conditioner nor the power steering is hooked up, but a replacement power steering pump will be included in the sale. The headliner on the sunroof is also sagging a bit in the front.
The Ugly: The car has a dent in the driver door and door sill from the previous owner. I have a spare dentless door to put on the car, I just never have. This will also be included in the sale. The dents look ugly but do not leak water. A set of aftermarket side skirts that hide the sill dent will be included. The front valence was pushed in a bit on the passenger side, possibly an animal or parking lot mishap. The dents have a bit of surface rust on them but nothing that is cause for alarm.
This car would be well suited to either continue on as a track and autocross warrior or to live a more sedate life as a fun street car- it is not overly modified to the detriment of one or the other. The issues with the car are mostly cosmetic and easily fixed or ignored by someone who wants a driver’s car. I have tried to be honest and complete in this ad, so please if there are any questions send me an email and I will be happy to answer questions, send more pictures, or meet for a drive. This car would also make a great shell for an M30 or S50 swap car.
$2250 obo for a local r3v member. Need it gone.
Thanks!
-David
Additional wheels, tires, and assorted parts can be included depending on cost.
Now for the pictures! I am happy to take more for any prospective buyer. I am a terrible photographer though, and this car looks amazing in person.
