      honestly never got that stuff to work. it brought down some of my numbers when i was struggling previously, but shit like an oil change, air filter, valve adjustment, ignition system refresh and idle air adjustment had much more of an impact on my numbers.

        Since it looks like this swap is going to take a bit more time, because of $$ - or lack thereof, I got the 528 e-tested today. Passed with flying colors. At least I know the motor can pass in its obd2 state. The 'visual inspection' part of the test lasted about 3 seconds, the guy popped the hood, looked at the motor and dropped the hood. Literally, 3 seconds.

        They didn't plug anything in to the obd connector either.

        I think I have nothing to worry about. Thanks for all the info guys, its very helpful.


        Looking for a clean e30 shell for a project.
