My understanding of the Compact
sedan hood, fenders, a pillar, roof
random doors?
E30 rear suspension, E36 front
Rear end was backed into a wall at some point, likely on purpose to make it smaller.
They make great Rallye cars, especially with a 24v S-motor.
Wings Thursday!

Compacts are sedan a-pillar and roof, special fenders, some random doors, a suspension made from leftover parts in some dudes garage, and with no rear end. It is a confused little car.Leave a comment:

I would love to go do this in my ix!
On a side note, is there a difference in fenders, headlights etc in e36's?Leave a comment:

I got second at this event last year in a swapped Impreza. It's a lot of fun and they let you have a ton of time to mess around at the end of the day.Leave a comment:

Stupid.
Sounds like they *could* keep you in the stock class with winters depending on type. I would hope that my Jeep with hankooks wouldn't get bumped up. Probably not worth waking up early for.Leave a comment:

Rules, page 13 I think? You get bumped into the Pro Street that requires helmets.Leave a comment:

Just read the rules, not excited anymore. 1 guaranteed lap for $25, and you only get more if you win heats. Since this would be my first time in the car on an ice race, the probability of winning is super low.....so no go. If you have studless winter tires, you get bumped up into a higher class also. I'm not thrilled with the rule set.
Would be fun to watch though and to gauge how serious people are.Leave a comment:

Pretty much. It is all a *maybe*. You *might* get in practice if you register fast enough. You *might* win and get more runs. They *might* set up free time after the event.
I still want to go and see what it is like. I am just not to thrilled about one lap only.Leave a comment:

Wait wait wait.Just read some rules at lunch. You don't need a helmet for stock rubber class. Sounds like you just show up at 8, tech, register, then race. There is practice during registration and you only get free laps if you get in. The race you only get one lap, more if you win. I *might* go, but it sucks you only get one lap. You can also have a rider with you in stock rubber class.
$25 for one lap only?
Fuck that.Leave a comment:

I'm pretty sure it's a register there type deal. No studs, need helmet (I think)...pretty simple. They'll tech your car there also.Leave a comment:

What do I need to do to ice race? I don't have time to read all the rules at work.
Can I pretty much register and show up Sunday or is there more to it?Leave a comment:
