It does, and I classify brakes in the safety category of modifications. With your car, I'd do brakes, roll bar+seats, S50. And if you can come out ahead or about the same on a switch to 15inchers, do that too.

    In that order.

I'd also go so far as to say that lee's kit would be capable of stopping an S50 equipped E30 on a track reliably with the proper pads.

Remember, the 1995 M3 which came with the S50 only ran 235/40/17 tires in the rear. Obviously you'll need more because you don't have ASTZZZZZ and mad-tyte E36 rear-suspension shiznit, but a 245 should be plenty.

      my biggest argument yet:

      $$ for 15" wheels/tires << $$ for 17" wheels/tires.

for me, personally, that is what matters most. and i am JUST speaking for myself here: i don't care that a bigger tire will grip better, or that i need to fit a BBK, because I can't afford that stuff! I would rather track my car on 205/50/15 cheap-ass CL tires than not track at all.

      EDIT:

oh and yes the TRM C1 (15x8 ) is designed to fit a BBK, as is the Kosei K1 (15x7). And if the 17" wheels that are 8" wide are wearing 235mm rubber, why can't a 15" wheel that is 8" wide also wear 235mm rubber? (assuming tire availability). And logically, the 15" wheel w/ 235mm rubber ought to rub less than a bigger wheel with the same treadwidth....

These wheels are in near perfect condition. Someone should jump on them. Good seller too.

Whatever is cheapest / lightest between the K1, TR, and TDR ones... Would prefer 15x8

TRM C1 then. They are just stupid cheap. That means more monies for R-Comps. And who's to say you aren't "good enough" for R-comps? ha ha

Well its not that I'm not good enough, but more like I still have learning to go on street tires... Street tires will talk and talk and talk and talk and then let go. R-comps won't.

Right now I'm thinking the CR1 wheels, 15x8, w/ 225/45 Hankook RS3... That's the best street tire you can get before buying an official entry level r-comp like the NT01 or something.

                      Yes, et25 too I believe.

Also, if you want 15x7 for whatever reason, LTW5's are only 400 shipped from guten parts. 13lbs, woot. I would prefer 15x8 though if you can get it.

Did you get yours from Guten? I was thinking about them, but I kinda wanna go 15x8, and if I order everything from Tire Rack, they'll mount and balance em for me.

                                Cool, good to know.

BUMP, I wanna sell these things, the car's direction needs to change and to do that, I need these gone. Someone buy em, they're e30 fitment, they'll go on a Honda I'm sure, they fit on a Mini Clubman and I thought they looked dope.
