Skiing has been very good this year so far. It is a weird winter.

that's what I heard. My brother went up to Copper christmas eve and said they had something like a foot of powder.

          I was like: 0_o wat.

I have a LOT of bald tires around here. I was thinking of making some ice tires out of a set...

            like this
            only without the "blocky tread"

Looking for a clean e30 shell for a project.

Also, 215/60/15 is rather big. I am running 195/60/15 snows and I rub at full lock already, I couldn't imagine much bigger.
Miata wheels are also an option.

Thanks for this link bro. They are now sitting in my garage waiting for install tonight so I can test the e30 out on these nice winter roads. The Blizzaks were practically new, and the seller was a real cool guy building an e30 race car so it was a pleasure to direct my cash towards the project.

Still interested in local used lightweight 15" wheels for summer or track duty, but most likely going to just opt for new TDR 1.2 Motorsports from Turner Motorsport. Hard to beat priced around $100 each new with no hub centering rings or spacers to muck with. I've run TDRs of that design before on my Audi S4 and they are one tough lightweight wheel.

I look forward to meeting the local e30 tuner crowd. Not sure I'll make it out tonight -- have to wrap up some work.

Thanks for paying it forward with the pointer to the set I got. These didn't come with center caps, but the matching 14s on the car did and they definitely need new center graphics. Must be the originals on there now all flaking out.

Gotta say -- have new respect for my new-to-me e30 after installing the new Blizzak WS60s a couple of nights ago. I parked the more than capable all wheel drive/winter tire wearing Land Rover, and have been tooling around Boulder in my RWD 325is the past few days. Have gotten a few looks from folks in Subes and SUVs on all seasons that aren't having nearly as much fun.

On it's stock "minus" suspension (mismatched no-name dampers and worn bushings no doubt) and old bald summer tires, it handles like a boat on dry roads -- but really came alive with the new winter tires on the snow and ice. Nicely balanced I could oversteer slick corners and easily recover even with the leaky steering rack. Will definitely be signing up for BMWCCA's ice gymkhana or one of the Audi Club Georgetown Lake events if my Jan/Feb schedule allows. Just hope there is some snow and slush, as I don't the the studless WS60s on glare sheet ice would be as much fun compared to Quattro studless.
