No, $153 and I get four rebuilt calipers. Cleaned, inspected, all new pistons/seals, pressure tested. Then I send my used ones back in.

And now after doing more reading I think I might need a new MC soon. My pedal will sometimes be a normal amount of soft and once I let off the quickly apply brakes again they are nice and firm. They have never sank to the floor though. Thoughts?

Wouldn't surprise me if it was original.

I'm sure it is. I just don't know if I want to spend the money on it when my pedal isn't on the floor yet. They are spendy.

I miss the days of rebuild-able master cylinders. :(

I miss the days of not owning a car that has 21 year old rubber seals.

I'm without tires for the 6th David, unless I want to just buy some RS3s for my bottlecaps... This would essentially eliminate the secret Japanese idea I shared with you though.... and they'd still be 14s

yes bleed your brakes. if you have abs, u need to find some gravel and use the abs system like a mother fucker, then bread your brakes. Not work, quick and easy, check for vacuum leak around booster.

Word you are done, still didn't get fixed? you do need a master cylinder. those are the steps I would begin with in determining.

I think I have a good mc in my pile of parts if you want it.

Ate or Girling? For a late model w/ ABS?

I've got a 25mm on the boat if you can wait a few months.

Your situation sounds like the booster needing a bit of boost to build pressure... sounds like every BMA I've owned.

And good advice about bleeding the abs! Also when you swap your calipers out, overfill the resivour as fluid will leak because of gravity and the open line. Check the resivour after bleeding each caliper since they will be dry when you get them.

So do you think I should leave the MC alone until it gets noticeably soft?
