Only other rubber line would be the clutch line, but that shouldn't be an issue. You could have a bad SS line, or it isn't tightened enough/was tightened too much, or something closer to the reservoir and master is bad.

If ABS isn't engaging as it should though, I'd check that (and your wheel speed sensors/ring).
All six were installed to spec.

Can't tighten them too much (will strip out), and if you don't tighten them enough they'll spew fluid everywhere.

The ABS was giving him grief before the line/caliper/fluid swap.

Wheel sensors should be checked though, and a rebleed won't hurt.

That sounds legit then. My ABS had issues also, and I'm certain it was due to grimy wheel speed sensor rings and gunked over sensors. Clean those and then force the ABS system to cycle enough to get the air out (or take it to a shop for a power bleed of the ABS system) and it should work again.

My pedal didn't sink to the floor ever though, so I never bothered despite the non-working ABS.

The pedal wasn't "on the floor" exactly. But very close. I still had some room left but I was on the brakes as hard as I could push, which is why I think there is a problem. ABS was working very lightly even with full pressure. Air getting caught in the ABS seems like a good possibility.

Yep. Going to have to find some free time this week so I can get it bled again. Hopefully there's no air stuck, but idk what else it could be.

A quick search is showing that after doing lines where a bunch of air gets in it there is probably air in/near the ABS. It is worth a shot. I will go do some more hard braking and then we should bleed it again. Ugh...

              Yep. Happened to my car.

Much hard braking. The more, the better.

Yup. If that and a extensive bleed doesn't fix it, you'll have to take it to a shop so they can power bleed the ABS system.

Unless I can find a way to trick the ABS pump into cycling. ;)

                    Ya, that'd work too.

                        The SS lines?

The inner rear ones suck monkey balls to install unless you drop the subframe.

nope, once you have the right tools, walk in the park.

Disagree. I had the right tools, major pain in the ass. The other four are easy as hell, it's those two inner lines that suck.

Two hours of fighting with those damn lines and having brake fluid drip everywhere was just awful.

It could have been my 260k mile car, but still.

It's not hard if the hard-lines aren't broken. Once I got the right tools and the replacement hardline, I was able to do the middle softlines in about 10~15 minutes/side.
