Two hours of fighting with those damn lines and having brake fluid drip everywhere was just awful.

It could have been my 260k mile car, but still.
It's not hard if the hard-lines aren't broken. Once I got the right tools and the replacement hardline, I was able to do the middle softlines in about 10~15 minutes/side.

My phone is retarded, and about to die. And I'm about to crash for a few hours. Shoot me a facebook message. I still have to take pics of the wheel studs for you, and I'm going to grab some other pics for david too, but I have to get some sleep first.

    The SS lines?

The inner rear ones suck monkey balls to install unless you drop the subframe.

    Ya, that'd work too.

Yup. If that and a extensive bleed doesn't fix it, you'll have to take it to a shop so they can power bleed the ABS system.

Clean those and then force the ABS system to cycle enough to get the air out (or take it to a shop for a power bleed of the ABS system) and it should work again.

My pedal didn't sink to the floor ever though, so I never bothered despite the non-working ABS.

The pedal wasn't "on the floor" exactly. But very close. I still had some room left but I was on the brakes as hard as I could push, which is why I think there is a problem. ABS was working very lightly even with full pressure. Air getting caught in the ABS seems like a good possibility.

The ABS was giving him grief before the line/caliper/fluid swap.

Wheel sensors should be checked though, and a rebleed won't hurt.

Only other rubber line would be the clutch line, but that shouldn't be an issue. You could have a bad SS line, or it isn't tightened enough/was tightened too much, or something closer to the reservoir and master is bad.

If ABS isn't engaging as it should though, I'd check that (and your wheel speed sensors/ring).
