More proof Boulder does what it wants

BOULDER, Colo.—The city of Boulder is refusing to release copies of criminal background checks that it ran on people applying for medical marijuana business licenses—including five businesses that the city briefly shut down after principal investors or general managers were flagged by the checks.
The Camera recently requested copies of application records that would shed light on why the city rejected business licenses for High Grade Alternatives, 8th Street Care Center, Southwest Alternative Care, Timberline Herbal Clinic, Mountain Medicine Group and Fresh Baked Dispensary.
The six companies were shut down by the city earlier this month. One business had a zoning issue, while the other five had problems with background checks. The city announced last week that the five companies with background issues could stay open pending appeals. City ordinance says that anyone with at least a 10 percent stake in a marijuana business must submit to a background check. Anyone convicted of a felony in the last five years cannot operate a medical marijuana business. The city application asks for information about felony convictions in the last 10 years, DUI convictions and any misdemeanors related to abuse of alcohol or illegal drugs.

It's really a shame that boulder has turned into the fascist shit-show it is now. I remember it being so much better in the 90s, and from what I hear from my dad, it was much better even before (But so was all of Colorado before the Californians moved here en masse)... :/

Yep, No F-ing Wal-Mart, mysterious art work appearing, there's so many crossing lights across from the campus AND students still get run over. The Bustop has remained open without the McKimm brothers working the door. They almost killed the mayors son back in the 80's. What about the Boulderite caught with 15 Lb. of Blow in the Boulder Athletic Club, 1986, no one went to jail??? 8,000 pot plants get found in Nederland, somebody's in the cookie jar and asleep on guard duty. No planting parties for the burn areas, oooppp's the city counsel can't approve it yet, the bribes to the tree farm arn't enough, dodn't understand that, Boulder was the only county in America to vote in higher taxes. My Daddy's house is in the way of CU expanding to the north, that's the really big, 3 story, on 5 acres, turn of the century home, on the hill that you can see from Boulder High School's football field. They want the 3,000 SF. home and the 5 acres for a million bucks. Excuse me, lets try $5,000,000 college boys! O SHIT i almost forgot the bicycle riders, OOOOO that is a """killer hot button""", think I'll leave this one alone. Roseanne Barr, the domestic godess came to my nightclub and tore the house down. Tommy Bolin, sad demize. Driving my Vert. through Boulder in the ninety's, hooked up with a honey EVERY time!!! Roland's dad was right, there were better times, The Hill, what a party!!! I did knock down 24 bicycles on Jay Rd. once but the tropper found all of them at fault, sent me on my way. Wish i could of stayed but just couldn't deal with paying $4 for a loaf of bread that cost $2 in a Denver King Soopers. Sorry, had a tripple expresso, double cream and sugar, latte coffee at my coffee shop for $4. I'll write a letter to Kaddaffi next and see how the plastic surgury went.

            so... you're against this?

Drug pushers are assholes. IMO, after crack and meth, they're the biggest reason society looks down on the drug world.

No, its the "special treatment" clause in Boulder Government. Who exactly are they protecting by not releasing this info??? Does someone important own a shop on the side ? Zoning issues??? Too close to a school maybe?? Like they can't find who's growing 8,000 pot plants??? Not looking very hard. They got the power to keep Wal-Mart out of the city with vacant commercial property. What about the 67 acre chicken farm they want to convert to a commercial Med. Pot growing facility???

Is society not supposed to be looking down on the drug world?

                    I don't understand what you're complaining about.

you're posting what seems to a a news article about about the city not releasing background information about pot store owners/employees, and then bitching about the CHP.

While I agree with you that highway patrols are more often than not good for nothing pigs, I don't see what it has to do with weed dispensaries.

What i don't like is the fact that Boulder will not release the info on the owners/Mgrs. Boulder city government kinda makes the rules up as they go. Now thier busting DR's all over Colo. for giving out MM cards for anything AE tunnell carpel for WIKKI. Boulderites have been living in thier own little world for years. The CHP stuff was 25 years ago, sorry. The commercial MM growing facility worries me more, the "we cant find the guys illegally growing pot" The guard had an AK so they sent for the DEA, ATF, SWAT, Sherriffs.:wgaf: A true Boulderite's opinion, I could agree but what if the Mexican Mafia killed all the guards on the 8,000 plants and harvested and sold, damn no border to cross!!!! What about robbing the commercial place!!! WHERE'S WIKKI BEST BUDDY, COLORADO CAB, DOES THAT P STAND FOR POT?? DA TROLL WANTS APOLIGY DINDIN FOR TRUCK STOP THREAD, KEEPING KY WARM.

I'm actually thrilled that Boulder hasn't fallen to large corporate business... yet.
The reason Wal-fart and other large stores haven't gotten in is because the city council promotes local business only.

HY-36 should be re-tolled; maybe it'll actually be repaved before 2035...

MM is retarded; however if it exists, the state and cities should be smart enough to tax the F&%$ out of it.
Then the dope heads would support a stipend-budget allowing for real-world, morally-sound programs.

Loud pipes are idiotic; do your hearing a favor and put on a proper sound reducing muffler.

Colorado State Patrol are good people when you're not being a complete assmunch.

Srly; there's no thread locker here? ROFL.
