    Summer tire recommendations

So, I've bought a set of winter Hankook iPike's (14") last fall, I just bought a set of Nitto NT01's (14") for autocross, and now I'm on to buying a set of tires for the summer.

Considering my car's a daily driver, and we live in beautiful Colorado where there's pretty much always a chance of an afternoon rain shower or two, I'm looking for recommendations concerning summer tires (with characteristics that can handle rain obviously). I'll be putting them on some 15" OZ Racing Vega wheels, and I know I cannot run anything wider than 225's.

I know nothing about decent summer tires, so hit me up with possibilities. Not looking to spend too much money...something like $130 or less per tire. Will probably buy from local tire shops fyi.

I am happy with my BFG G-force sport. I have 225/50/15. I've done fine in the rain, decent treadwear, cheap, grippy, can't go wrong if you ask me.

I like my Yokohama S-Drives even thought ive burnt them up in a matter of months from burnouts and terrible alignment.

Thanks...these are all good recommendations. Just needed a list to start researching and reading up on. Keep them coming if you can think of others, and I'll let you know my final decision!

I would get star specs if you can stand not running the stock diameter tire.

Hankook RS3 in 225/45-15 if you can get em. $103/tire - You won't find a better deal on grip vs. price.

Dunlop Star Spec is a close second 205/50-15. $108/tire.

Yokohama makes the AD08 in 205/50-15 also. $120/tire.

I would pick those tires, in that order. If your wheels are less than 7.5" wide, skip the Hankooks.

If you're looking for something that will last more than 12k miles, skip my post.

I have Dunlop DZ101, but they are new and I have no experience yet. They DO grip a heck of alot better than my old crappy Kumho Ecstas, and they run about $50 for a 205/50/15.

Falken 512, yokohama S drives are awesome but are very aggressive so the tread depth isnt very deep, I like the yokohama yk520 which are normally pretty cheap but still and aggressive tire that will last you. If you go with yokohama come in to discount tire on good friday and its $40 off 4 tires ( not trying to advertise just helping a brotha out  )

They covered my recommendations to a T.

I run decent all seasons on the Subaru in summer, but the M3 runs the Star Specs. I'm buying a set of the RS3s as soon as the car burns through the SS.

I went to discount tire and got some 215/45/17's which seam really nice actually. smoothed my ride out from the 205/40's and got them for 68.95 a tire. rated at 91w. idk much about tire although I buy them, and burn em

I giggle at these kinda threads.... You have NT01s and dedicated snows, don't go out and buy a super aggressive
Summer tire with tread wear that will have you buying another set next year.... Buy something comfy from Michelin or something with high tread wear to get around on. Ride quality will be nicer, less road noise, but less grip (the road isn't a race track). Best of all you'll be saving money cause next summer you won't be replacing them due to tire wear.
