    sway bar mount?

So the rear sway bar mount (frame of car) broke off due to the upgraded sway bar, so…… does anyone have a welder?

The only time I ever have trouble with swaybar tabs failing is when the bushings bind and put stress on the mounts. Something to check when you reattach the mount.

thanks, I believe they are the tms brand of sway bars. The bushing looked okay, no excessive wear or signs of binding up so much. that I can remember anyway.

had stock mounts but apparently I need the reinforcements from TMS, in case, I am talking about were the mount goes slips behind metal (body) and then bolts the the metal (body still) that piece of "body" no longer exists.

yeah stock mounts will tear right out with an aftermarket thicker swaybar.

Rear sway bar tabs in e30s rip out like its their job. They literally are paper thin.

I find it interesting they didn't change it for the M3.

haha fucken love it. I mean, I'm sure back in 1980 they wouldn't really be thinking about what we're doing with our cars in 2011

does m3 have a larger sway then 325 or ix?

Its 14.5mm, not big enough to rip off the tab IMO.

Yeah, that's what I put in my car to avoid the welding. I don't see the point of putting giant sway bars on an E30, but that's not the point. OP I don't have a welder.
