I have a welder. It's a stick welder, and a pain in the ass to weld parts that are still mounted on the car.

shoot, would it work for my sway bar tab? to throw in a piece of metal to the frame?

I think it would be hard to get proper penetration with stick welding for a sway bar tab. I'd just go get a junkyard trailing arm and reinforce that one.

I agree with that statement when the trailing arm is still attached to the car. With junkyard arm I'm sure we could make it work, no twisting around to try and get the angle correct. My welder does 120amps with some big electrodes and I can get great welds on 1/4" steel, a sway bar tab would be easy without angle issues.

I'm planning to do mine when I do all the rear bushings...

no its not the tabs on the control arms that have failed. it is the literal sway bar mount to the frame. not control arms. where the bar is held on w/ a bushing
