All E30s I've been in have broken parts and are leaking...

That usually happens with old cars.....

See that's what I thought, a lot of people say theirs runs around 1/3, mine is 1/2.

My m20 runs right about half way. My radiator has a leak and my t-stat may be screwed up.

I don't see anything out of the ordinary for an M20.

I wonder what kind of efficiency gains could be had if you could get them to not run cold.

A decent amount, but not as much as if the engine had much higher compression. Hard to have good efficiency at low compression without FI.

Like all of our concepts, this one is strictly drawing-board for the next few years.

and by next few years, he means two or so until I get done with grad school. Val's got most of the parts we need, all we really need now is an engine/trans/computer and a skilled fabricator....one of which we have.

Pretty much all 89+ M20 cars that I've been in run maybe 1/3 from cold on the temp gauge. The radiator is the same as the E36 M3's radiator, and is way oversized for the m20. They all run silly cold.
