isn't this what an open track day is? except you pay ten times more, and you avoid the dirt and bumps of rally. Same engine and driveline wear. I dunno, just sayin. But to present both sides of the argument here, yeah rally does make a mess of your interior if your windows are down, and you can bend wheels and control arms easier.

Much more fun to just hoon around when it snows and go to HPR when it doesn't.
Oh, totally. "If I had a million dollars......."

              yeah, serious.

track and rally would inflict similar engine and driveline wear on the car, but obviously the bouncing on a rally track would put more wear on bushings, suspension, whatnot

and i guess Hans is the roundel, the bike sprocket was just an example by the OP of that thread.

Yes, Sam, going to the track costs a lot more money than going to the rally track. HPR though has insurance for each event to cover damages to the track and medical expenses, has an on-site medical team in case of emergency, maintenance, and is also paying off the capital required to build it and expand it.

I've got no problem paying to go drive my car on track, to support a locally owned racetrack, to pay for maintenance to ensure it stays an awesome track with great facilities, to not die since I'm an hour away from a hospital, and to know I'm not on the hook entirely to fix/relandscape things if damage happens.

As for drivetrain wear....lulz, no, the wear isn't even remotely the same. Rally is WAY harder on components, engines, transmissions, and shells. aka everything.

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

Sounds good to me. There's plenty of places around here for good food, and assuming Nederland isn't chock full of snow still, there's a simply amazing BBQ/brewery house up there, and it's a fun relaxing drive up.

My M is out of commission, so I'll be in the Wagon of MAN.

It's still incredibly difficult for me to associate "manliness" with "subaru."

                            But if you insist.... :pimp:
