CAD Users with time on their hands, Check In

First off, I can't pay anyone for their time. I'd like to, but it's just not in the cards right now. That being said, I'm looking to see if any locals (or anyone else who browses Mountain section, cause yeah, we're the shit) are quite capable of using Solidworks, Illustrator or Inventor, whatever it's called, etc. etc. etc.

As some to all of you know, my e30 is gone and I'm trying to get my hands on another Jeep since it was my first vehicle and I miss the comfort, room, the ability to go offroading, not worry about pot holes, bumps, curbs, rocks, pebbles on the road, etc. etc. etc... lol....

I'm a quite capable welder, and with time, patience, and cardboard for mocking things up, I could make stuff myself, but I'm looking for people who wanna make it a little more... awesome.

Possibly meet with people / person to take some measurements, get dimensions, mounting points, etc. etc... Brainstorm ideas and come up with shit like, front and rear bumpers, skid plates, and any other bits that people can think of... Creativity is encouraged... It's not gonna be a perfect Jeep, but I want something capable and protected... Will also be open to people wanting to wrench on something other than a BMW... Simple things like swapping interior lights in the cluster or transmission gear indicators, etc. to LED, shit like that. Just upgrades and changes to creature comforts.... Anyway
    Yeah
    ....

I can't pay ya, though I'd like to. If you're quite capable with some of the programs, lemme know, send me some work / examples and may the collaboration begin...

This thread brought to you by this thread:

Cherokee Chat - This is how i want my rear bumper... - Was a little bored at work so i sketched a 3D drawing of how i would like my rear bumper to be... let me know what you guys think.

I really dig the rear bumper he did with CAD, especially after the 2" receiver is integrated a few posts down. I like stuff simple, very simple, lighter the better but still will do the job. Don't want clutter... I want shit to work and look clean. Wanna help put together a really clean Jeep? Lemme know.....

I'm praying starting this thread before GETTING the Jeep won't jinx anything. But I figured this'd come up eventually, and I miss welding... Opportunity to match two people's talents. Also, if I can get access to some machines and what not, I might be persuaded to weld things for said person in exchange for CAD stuff... We'll see... /this-rant-brought-to-you-by-Vicodin. (waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles ass pain killer... I'm drowsy and still sore as all hell)

PM me for detailing services in the Longmont / Boulder Area in Colorado!

so what is it exactly you want?

also, I can trade solidworks drawings for some welding on my E30. It needs it. exhaust stuff, bodywork stuff, and rear swaybar mounts.

      I have only done 2D stuff...and I don't have access to a program, or I'd try.

ellipses. the "..." in your original post, it's like every fourth word.

Sounds like a cool project idea though!

I have a lot of CAD work using autocad and solidworks. As part of my senior project I modeled a working jet engine in solidworks. its a good program. I also have some 3dstudiomax. I'm not good at it but I am working on building a 1977 320i group 5 car. It is coming along.

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.
