However, I think it will only last a few years once they see how fast they can go up the hill when it's all paved. It will be very unsafe. While it sucks to see the gravel go, this will be a completely different race.

For those that didn't see the Jalopnik hacked road sign at pikes peak "Caswell For The Win". I loled but didn't have my camera handy. We knew it would show up though.
Fans of Jalopnik and Bill Caswell, our indomitable Hollywood-bound $500 Craigslist rally car driver, decided yet again not to listen to our pleas against hacking electronic road signs, hacking a sign at this weekend's Pikes Peak race.

Here are some pictures that Google Picasa seemed to make grainy/weird looking.

That would be Dave Kern. This was the third or fourth year for him and his wife at Pikes Peak. He clipped a guardrail and the tire finally gave out at about a mile from the top.

                    Watch these in HD:

                    Monster's 9:51.276 second run.

                    Val and Brendan's run

Watching them side-by-side makes me feel like Val and Brendan are out for a leisurely drive in the fall to see the leaves changing.

haha, or that Monster's video is on fast-forward.

Val and Brendan did a great job, great lines through the corners but they were seriously down on power/gearing compared to the 910hp turbo Suzuki.

That video of Monster is ridiculous.

I want to go up in some old 2002 in the vintage class sometime soon. I am too scared to go in anything with any significant horsepower.
