Well, buying E28s generates revenue for me, so in theory that would help me buy this S50, problem is, I need to generate revenue to pay off the 540. When the (E39) 528i sells, that will pay most of the 540, and one of my E28s should pay for the rest (in theory).

figgered i'd ask whether the M50 and S50 harnesses are 100% identical.

They are.

I bet the ECUs are different though, there has got to be a different tune on an S50 ECU.

ECUs are identical, chip *might* be different but either chip will work with either motor. You want a red-label 413 as that is non-ews. If you buy an EWS ECU you usually have to cut some wires or get an EWS delete chip from Turner

I'm telling you, the hardest part of an E30 engine swap is getting the hood off and back on again. The rest is cake, time consuming cake, but cake nonetheless. :)

hmmm....

i.e. only post a pic of the engine bay, one of a door panel+seat, one of the front, one of the rear+side and one of the front+otherside. Leave the rest in an off-site album that you link to in the ad.

Chips are definitely different due to S50 vs M50 cams. ECU is the same.

Intake/exhaust manifolds are the same. Injectors are not.

have you looked into this swap at all? I'd recommend you do some research.
