FWIW, you can't carry in crowded places like movie theaters, sports arenas, etc.
That said, I'm getting mine asap.Comment

missing the point entirely. It's illegal to carry concealed in a movie theater-- think about what would happen if you do actually manage to stop a shooter in that situation and you had been illegally carrying your weapon?
Instant manslaughter/murder, since you lose all the legal CCW protections because you were not carrying legally. In the eyes of the law, the only difference between you and the rampaging lunatic is that you only killed one person, not 12, and that a jury might not convict you because they agree with your actions.Comment

yep, not too worried about that if I manage to save some 2 year old (especially mine, who is 3) from being shot point blank.missing the point entirely. and what are the cops gonna do- lock you up for potentially saving many lives because you carried your gun into the wrong place?Comment

In all likelihood, you'd then get to see your daughter grow up from behind bars.
Legal use of force != moral/ethical use of force.
And yes, they will. You carried and used your weapon in a way that is not allowed for by your CCW permit, meaning you lose all legal protections afforded said permit. Others might agree with your actions, but you would legally have committed murder or manslaughter. You can only carry, draw, and use your gun in extremely limited circumstances legally.Comment

Depends on what theatre, seat, etc. He was walking up the side-aisles shooting people while they were sitting. Next time you're in a theatre, sit down and look at the side aisles and the people walking up them. Assuming you were in the theatre that wasn't gassed, or far away from the gas, you have a pretty decent shot.
