I'm 80% in. Just need to long range budget costs and decide which car to bring. Dorkfest is the week before, so the M Coupe would be the most rational choice.

Same here, but like Alex, I'm not sure what car to take! The e30 would be super cool on the track, but the M5 would be much better for EVERYTHING else!

The M5 cures all the reasons I hate the normal e28. It has power, brakes that aren't near as bad, and charm. The nonM.... doesn't have any of those.

I'm planning to go to pagosa, closer, cheaper, and more fun driving out there. So im out, not sure why nobody seems interested in going to pagosa springs the first or second week of august?

I'm not committing to Pagosa (or Ofest) until I know whether I am staying an extra couple months out here. If I am...Ofest. If not...not sure.

I think he drove it up to the Springs from Texas, at least I remember him saying something along those lines at HPR.

Not a chance, the drive from the springs to HPR is about all I can take in it. I would trailer the E30 for that kind of distance. But The M5 can do the track day, the auto-x and the concourse. The E30 would probably bust the dumb 92db sound limit at laguna, so I'd only be able to do the auto-x in it.
