    ix rear diff issue

Just wondering if anyone has any advice, i dropped my rear diff while i was changeing my springs and struts and now i cannot get the wholes for the bolt on top to line up at all. Should i be jacking the diff up in a specific fashion? like maybe the front of the diff first? i donno, i finished the springs and struts in all of an hour and have spent the last 2 trying to get the diff remounted. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also i got my ix back from the body shop, she looks amazing. Pics will be posted also cant but recommend the people at broomfield autobody did a great job at an unbelievable price

I didn't have any problem putting mine in. I think I put the jack right under the center then lifted up and put the rear mount of first and just moved it around to get the top to line up.

I followed some write up on here and it said to lower the diff so as not to stress the axles. and ya i tried putting the back in first and can get the bottom 2 but not the ones up top, they are so close off by like a centimeter or two. Im thinkingI just need to step away from it for a minute i guess cause its so frustrating. it seems like it should be so easy ha.

Try jacking up the wheel hubs too (if you have enough jacks). If your subframe bushings are bad, it might be "pitching" the subframe assembly downward on one end forward or aft. The rear subframe makes a triangle. I've had trouble getting the diff holes to line up perfectly after changing out subframe bushings. Along that line of thought, you could loosen the subframe carriers and bolts to drop the front slightly. I highly doubt that is necessary though.

Was no need to drop the diff to do the springs and shocks. Jack under the control arm while removing the shocks and Springs so you can slowly lower it down enough is generally all you need to do.

Is the rear mount lined up?
