Yogi stopped by for a couple of apples & wanted a picnic basket
there seems to be alot more out this summer. My Aunt had one on her back porch not even 5 mins after the just walked into the house. she goes to close the door and there it was chilling on her back porch...One was at the end of my street on 4th of July strolling around in my friends front yard. The crazy thing is there was a bunch of people out front across the street having a cookout and the bear was still just strolling...eventually he ran off back into the woods. Animal control caught it and relocated it the next day...way too close for comfort for me.

He's tagged so he is a known suspect in our area. DCR most likely relocated him to the Granville State Park. I have not seen a fisher cat here though yet.
I live in a fairly populated area (1/2-1ish acre house lots) about a half mile from the nh seacoast. It's amazing how close some of these critters are. I see wild turkeys at least once a week. Deer once a month. Fisher cat and fox a few times. Coyote, and I found bear scat on my deck last year. A couple years ago a moose was found in town making whoopee to a minivan. The minivan was totaled. :)
Yeah, I live fairly close to LRP now, takes about 30 minutes to get there via the back roads since I now live 2 minutes from CT border. We are in a older growth region of Mass with Barkhampsted right next door so the amount of woodlife is crazy compared to being just down the hill in Westfield.
I do miss the central ac but pool and lack of police sirens makes up for the few amenities.
