funny, the one moron on this forum that SHOULD give up e30s and buy a honda is calling out someone else.

on topic: if you think that the driveshaft was rubbing on the selector rod you have a entirely different group of issues. most likely your center support bearing has been trashed for awhile causing the driveshaft to not sit properly under the car. if indeed the selector rod is broken off the transmission youre in need of a new trans (depending on where its broke at), guibo and center support bushing. getrag 260s can be had for cheap, but be prepared for about a $400 investement with all the parts. at that point you also should look into replacing the rear main seal and see what condition your clutch is in.
