I drove all over Portland, Vancouver, downtown, east side, south side etc Friday, Saturday & Sunday night in the eta. No issues. I guess I am just that hot that I melt the ice as I go. ;)

Why are you pulling the motor to replace the pan? You just need to left it about an inch is all.

It was pretty slick in my neighborhood, I was gonna go to the store, but decided to turn around and not risk it. It's never worth your car!

Was pretty icy in SW Portland late Saturday night too...I decided not to drive since the road was slippery, there was a solid sheet of ice on my windshield, and I'm not on my winter tires.

Saw this car on (or off I guess) Terwilliger the next morning...

thanks for the encouraging words watson, but i can handle it;) As far as pulling the engine, the getrag260 bellhousing covers up two of the rare bolts on the oil pan, hence why the engine must be pulled. This will be my third e34 pan, really need to save up for that race skids....

On 24v that part isn't bolted on and since the bellhousing is rotated it's a bit of a problem IIRC on my setup.

^ ditto, the lower part that unbolts is useless and interferes with the e34 pan

I didnt put those two bolts in for that reason Tony. Never needed to pull it so far, but if I did... :) No leaks with 70k on the pan gasket too.

So if I were you, I would get a skid plate, or just stop putting those two bolts in. ;)

I'm thinking of just drilling holes in the bottom of the G260 to get to these two bolts. It's basically what they did with the E36 trannies.
