    Not guilty!

So I got a speeding ticket back in November. 38 in a 25 early one morning on a section of road where the speed limit goes 25...35...25....35...

I will admit I was going 38, but certainly didn't want the $170 fine or the points so I plead "not guilty" and went to court this morning.

I presented the attached evidence to show that the 8000 block is, in fact, a 35 zone. The officer wrote "8000 block" because he was too lazy to put the exact location which was more like 8300.

He was not required to be in court, but had submitted a written statement which was 99% boilerplate that he copied from the station's PC. "I calibrated the radar with two tuning forks while following the steps in the manual both before and after my shift....".

    Yeah, I'm sure you did.

The judge was letting quite a few people go that had a rational argument and some visual evidence. Everyone else was at least getting the fine reduced significantly.

One kid got a "not guilty" because he said the officer was parked next to a power transformer which would have effected the accuracy of his gun!

So, if you get a ticket I would at the very least make an appearance in court. You may get off completely but you will more than likely get the fine reduced significantly.

      That's sweet.

I went to court with my Dad and told him to argue the fact that vehicle he was pulled over in was considerably smaller than the other cars behind him and the "mobile radar speed detection (ABSOM DDR 818 or something silly) device" picked up the other, large vhicles behind him speeding as the officer was in front of my pops ALSO speeding. Judge called up the guy that calibrates 'em and asked if this was plausible. The guy said, "Yes. If the vehicle in question is say in front of a semi truck, the semi will give off a stronger reading than the smaller vehicle. Therefore it's in the officer's discretion as to who was speeding..."

      Totally thrown out.

Great job taking the visual evidence in. Really helps the case.

BTW, the transformer one is a CLASSIC thing to keep your eye for when you pass a cop. Completely boners their gun readings.

"Uh your honor, the cop wrote down that I was wearing a condom during the alleged crime, however I would like to show you that my cock will not fit the evidence in question. And if the condom don't fit, you must acquit."
