Location: Pacific Raceway, Kent.
Date: July 31, Aug 1
OK, so we have another chance to do something different at the IRDC race the last weekend in July. We've got the special race reserved for PRO3 with a twist... we've envited the 944 CUP guys that generally run with SCCA and PCA and they're looking forward to joining in the fun that weekend. They will run ITS during the regular schedule but as CUP cars during the special race on Saturday. We will actually have three classes running with two pace cars it looks like. First pace car will capture "ST" type German cars so E36's, M3's, all big Porsches, if someone shows up with a hot VW... You get the idea.
Directly behind them will be the second pace car with little room (to maximize out track time before we get lapped by the leaders) with be the 944's and PRO3's in that order. It looks like the majority of their field is in the 1:41's so for the first few laps, our faster PRO3 guys will have to work through them, giving a heck of a show for the fans. Then it should settle out and just be some good racing. If we have around 30 cars, they show with a promised 12, and ST captures another 15 or so... could be a huge field and a lot of fun!
The Puget Sound BMW club will have snacks that day for everyone and we're going to try to pit most of the cars together in the paddock.
Sunday will have the regular PRO3 race in Group 1. Should be a HUGE PRO3 grid again.
