Looking for an independant shop or BMW tech to do a PPI for me on a car in Seattle

Yo PNW dudez. I'm Chris from Milwaukee, WI and I'm looking at purchasing an e39 that's in Seattle and I'd like to have someone other than the dealer who is selling it check it out for me. I'd go take a peek myself, but 2000 miles is a little far. I've bought several e30s and had them shipped to me, but I haven't yet spent $10k on a car that I haven't personally seen. Hence, having a PPI done by someone who knows what they're looking at....

Who would u guyz recommend that I talk to???

what car are you looking at?
The greatest honor an e36 could ever have... to be parted out and have its parts used in an e30.

The difference between a porcupine and BMW’s. BMW’s have the pricks inside.

It's got more miles, but I'll have to see what sort of records both cars have. The 2000 only has 84k on it.

Have any of you guys seen either car in person, or do you know anything about either dealer?

Have not. The '99 somehow seems too cheap. Makes me suspicious. Especially coming from a dude named Slavko.

I wish I knew more about the M62tu engine.

The seller of the 99 bought it at auction back in July. The passenger headlight being foggy is the only thing that he came out and said that it needs.

                I'm interested in both.

I'm waiting to hear back from the seller of the 2000 with the service records. The 99 doesn't have any other than what shows on carfax.

I could call the local BMW dealer with the last 8 of the vin and see if they can tell me anything more...

Fair KBB trade in on a '99 shows $4600, so I guess that's in line with his price.

Like they say, "there's nothing more expensive than a cheap luxury car"

                    True.

I called BMW Northwest and they can't tell me any service history other than warranty work, and the last time it had warranty work done there was back in 2002.

Does anyone on here work at a BMW dealer?

Car Tender in Seattle does pre-purchase inspections. Give them a call and ask for Josh.

do they know the quirks with e39s?

mertondude, They know them very well. They are a BMW dealership alternative. Google or yelp them and check out the reviews. They're closed during the weekend though.

IMO CarTender is a great non dealer alt.
