    timing cover gaskets install

    Has anyone changed these on their m42s locally. i'm thinking about replacing mine soon and would like some help doing this from someone who has already done it.

    I have not but I understand it.

    you basically remove fan and all pulleys... and sometimes easier to pull rad/shroud
    Id come by and assist, when you do it

      cool thanks matt im just getting tired of the m42 oil leaks not sure if its from those gaskets because it makes its way to cat sometimes and makes it seems like the car is on fire cause its all smoky when i park

        if oil is getting on exhaust, likely your valve cover gasket and 1 or 2 of those rubber doughnuts holding cover on

          I replaced the valve cover gasket already with all new bolt grommets not leaking from there any more but the underside of the car has oil drips that come down the lower oil pan so im going to be replacing that and maybe my upper pan gasket if its worth it.

                Might ass well buy all timing gaskets, both pan gaskets and the oil filter housing gasket(s) maybe 2 there, not sure...
