I might be interested in doing the same with the Eibachs I have. Needs to be a bit lower. What's a full coil on the front drop you?S52-Powered 1987

Stock E30 M3 springs are the same wire diameter and only achieve a lower stance due to having one less coil. You can effectivly cut 2 coils off the stock front E30 springs before the spring rate overtakes the dampening of the stock shock inserts. If you cut more you need to run a stiffer shock like billys. Billy sports are shorter so they are the best choice. The rears are tricky because they are progressive due to their shape. Cutting one at a time and seeing where it falls is the best approach. The rears need to be loaded with the uncut section up and the last bottom coil parallel to the swing arm so they don't come out.
There's no reason you can't play around and see what happens. Most people frown on it because they see hondas bouncing down the road with bobble head drivers. The important thing to remember is that cutting coils increases the rate and the shock must also increase its dampening to compensate. Also, stock E30 springs are everywhere so if you don't like it you can easily get some more..Comment
