My exhaust went tits up on Monday. And, I just bought headers, midpipe, and muffler to replace it. Have any of you guys passed the sniff test without you catalytic converters? Trying to decide if I need to buy some high flow ones and weld on.

I failed with a Magnaflow cat. Barely.
I put the OBD2 cats back on and had no problem. (DOHC motor)Comment

Emissions testing in Washington is only required for cars that were produced in late 1986 and later. Once a car is 25 years old, emissions testing is not required anymore. Also, Washington only requires testing once every two years (unless it gets sold). So if the OP can pass emissions on his 88 E30 one more time (whether using Seafoam, or a catalytic converter, or waiver, or whatever), he shouldn't have to pass emissions again.1988 BMW 325iX - Lachssilber/Cardinal - Gone
