    Sad sad day....

Just like any other thread that starts off like that you'll find yet another BMW a victim to its crunchy death....

Basically, the guy in front of me stopped very short(I will express the fact that I was NOT following too close), because it was raining and slick from oily roads not getting rained on in almost a month I couldn't get the traction I needed sliding into the back of an F150. My grill literally ate his bumper. It was one of those times where you feel helpless just watching your car slide into danger.

Fortunately I had a very nice cop who had to push me to the shoulder as my car would not drive. I leaked out oil and coolant, but fortunately I know the M20 still lives on! So thats one good thing to look at. I'm pretty sure the cop felt terrible for me because even though I had complained of my physical pain I was more concerned about the car.

I was in one of those states where you're saying to yourself "I dont want to look, but I have to." When I finally built up the courage to look Oh man, I wanted to wake up from my nightmare I was caught in.

Anyways, This thread would be worthless without pictures.

My poor boy. He only looked like this a few days ago....

I need advice/help from anyone who has been in this situation before and has dealt with insurance companies on this. I've never gone through a loss like this so I honestly don't know what to expect and I'm praying I don't get screwed over. I have too much money into this car.

What type of insurance you have on the car?
Are you somewhat injured from this accident?

I'm so sorry! That really really sucks. Your cabbie was really clean and it made me want one. Hold out on payment as long as you can so you can get the most money from insurance. Don't settle until you get what YOU think is fair for the car.

How bad are the frame rails?

Taking care of health issue would be the first thing while gathering more tips about the car insurance claim deal.

                    Get well. Most important thing.

Don't take offers from insurance company to total the car for 1500.

If you need documentation that value of car worth more let us know.

                        Nice r3v lady! :D

Sorry to hear about the car but good to hear you were not seriously injured.

Even without the rails being touched it will need a new core support to be repaired properly.
That coupled with hood, fenders, valance, grills & lights, rad, condensor, aux fan and even with just cleaning up and painting the bumper it surely to be totaled out by your insurance.

Show them what clean verts are selling for to get the highest possible payout then do a buy back from them.
Buy used parts and upgraded new parts and you should come out way ahead.
                        Good luck.
