Yeah I'm basially out the price of an oil pan so I'm probably not going to deal with the city, even though they love giving out money.

It's still worth a shot to file the claim. The process itself is not too hard and doesnt take too much time. There have been some people who have had success, and others who have not, but it's worth a shot. Not sure how much an oil pan costs for E30's, but i had a very similar situation with my audi and it set me back $800.

Here is the link on how to go about filing the claim: http://www.ofm.wa.gov/rmd/forms/allforms.pdf

Here is the thread i made when i broke my oil pan, and there are a few people who mentioned they've had (or know of someone) a successful claims process and been reimbursed. Hope that helps- http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...ity-of-Seattle

Shoot .Lindsay. thanks. Now that's an answer. Much appreciated. I'm using an e34 528 oil pan and it set me back only $300 (plus overnight shipping of course). :)

Youd have 3 inches under a 24v plate? Thats pletny. Ill porbably have 1.5, on an m20 pan + skid. I have about 2 inches just to the pan right now

Thanks Stacie (think it's StacIE not Y) and yeah you would have 4 flat tires and no lip if you drove 20 feet down that damn road.

Yeeeeeah ended up being $850. Lol. But that included poly bushings which is quite an upgrade from 26 year old stocks.
EDIT - They groan a little but feels so much smoother.

Sorry to hear that Joe! I can't decide what's worse, busting your pan or doing a burnout in front of a cop. : P

Well if I had gotten more than a slap on the wrist for leaving rubber on Main street then that would have been just a little worse. Cop said the ticket for the list of infractions I'd caused would total around $1500.
