    need help

    somebody i need help getting this yellow stuff of my paint. maybe somebody knows how to get it of other then rubbing it off. thanks

    That's cosmoline. Mineral spirits works ok along with elbow grease.

      Isn't cosmoline there to protect the finish and so, the metal beneath? Is it really a good idea to remove it?

        I found that sh*t all over the fenders of my engine bay as well. Been just removing it with diluted simple green as I go. Some of it took a couple swipes with a soft brass brush, but I am also not really caring if my paint gets a little nerfed.

            ive used full concentrate simple green with goog results...elbow grease is definitely required though :p

              Does anyone have any updates on this problem? i have the same issue with my engine bay and would love to clean it up.

              I heard about spraying WD-40 on there for a period of time will dissolve the cosmoline into a liquid state allowing it to be wiped off. Anyone have any experience with this?

                I used mean green and a lot of elbow grease lol with the hard dish washing sponge, and again a ton of elbow grease
