well after we got the pan on, the threads for the plug were stripped out. Guess we got fucked for not making sure the used oil pan was really in good shape!

That's the way it came apparently.
We hadnt even removed the drainplug from the used pan until we noticed it wouldn't tighten at all. Just barely finger tight. We didn't reef on it or anything, anything barely tighter than finger tight spun the plug loose. We pulled the plug out and many of the threads from the pan were seated in the threads of the plug.
Ask Stephen, or E30 Rooster! Anywho, plans are to helicoil/time-cert the pan on his car when he makes time to come over. I'm bringing the old pan to work on Monday and getting those threads worked out.
