Engine is out. We already rented a hoist. They were working on dropping the rear subframe when I left just before 8. I'll be back over there tomorrow. Still lots of work to do.

I hate to do it, but I'm going to have to miss out this sunday. I'm just really tired this weekend, and not really digging the prospect of spending $60 bucks worth of gas to drive to Portland and back in the same day. I'm really sorry guys, but I'm just not going to make it. Good luck to y'all.

Sorry I couldn't stay longer. You guys had it all under control anyways. Good to meet you guys! I didn't think we had that many gear heads here. :D

Car is not up and running yet. We got the motor in and a bunch of the interior stuff (dash, wiring, etc) in, but we ran into a problem with the gas tanks. The fuel pump in the 318 is different than that of the euro car and we had tossed the wiring to the 318 pump so we had so switch tanks so that the pumps would fit. After about 2 hours of trying to install the euro cars tank onto the 318 we realized that the tank was too big. The euro car actually has a different chassis than the 318. It can hold a tank that is about 1 inch taller. So Tom is going to pick up a bunch of parts and JC and a few others are gonna head down in 2 weeks to finish things up. That is my update. I think that covers most of it.

Tom, make sure you get your homeowrk done!

Well providing that we have the correct parts it should run in 2 weeks.

I'm bringing down a boatload of spare parts to finish the car off, and we will have another weekend of fun excitement to get it finished.

Miso Beno took tons of pictures, he will post them after he gets off work, i have not even seen them yet.

Basically the new chassis has front suspension, wiring, engine, brakes (have some fitting issues to work on here) dash, cluster etc.

The rear trailing arm bushings/subframe bushings are SHOT, we we are replacing those, as well as the rear sway links.

Quite a bit of work remaining, but it will be done.

Me: So mot did the AC every work
                            mot: not to my knowledge

and it didn't have an AC Bleed line anywhere, so we were not exactly expecting it to have full pressure =/

                            Mothernature, We are sorry :(

"I think that was the high pressure line"
Then we started pulling the engine, after the dust had settled. Unfortunately we forgot to unbolt the clutch.

                              Confusion ensued.

                              While the engine bled.

Brute force, and the saws all. Thats all the tools you'll ever need to work on this piece of precision german engineering.
