I have no ski pass through and the battery is in the back. And my car is an 89. Unless you mean before 86 it was completely solid without any hint OG a ski pass. I have an outline of where the metal should be cut.

That IS the ski pass hole. No cutting necessary. Whack it with a hammer, done.

2: if you had made it out to HPF yesterday, could have checked it for yourself. I was pissed when I didn't have the skipass, and had no method to open the trunk. Or you could have just seen the pic's from the build thread.
