    Mmmm...new toy

Couldn't live with the automatic and non-sport in my wagon, so I picked this up yesterday.

6 speed, sport pkg, 328i (didn't want the turbo)

Ironically, as nice as it is to drive, my 91 318is is still the baby that gets all the love...

N55 has problems? Or too expensive?

Problems, reliability issues. Plus I drove one and the motor wasn't as linear as the NA motor or as smooth. The throttle felt like all or nothing with little modulation. The new 328 motor is plenty powerful, makes my M30 feel like a slug.

Definitely helps having the 6 speed. The 328 is awful with an auto. Reason I ask is because I see these cars all day long. I'd say the N54 has a much more linear power delivery (obviously) but the N55 is much more reliable and doesn't seem to have the driveability and running issues as the N54. At least dealers haven't started to see them yet.
                            Congrats on the purchase.
